Yesterday, when you were driving up the hill towards the trailhead with Dada, his ears started to feel pressure and then popped. He asked you if your ears felt funny. Evan replied, "Yeah my ears feel funny, like when I'm on the airplane."
The connections he now makes are amazing

Dada vs. Steven
E has recently been calling his Dada "Steven". It cracks me up. Tonight I could hear him speaking to Steven in the kitchen about cooking dinner. I could hear Evan say, "Steven?" And then continue to ask him about the pasta they were cooking. So funny. Then, I heard Steven say, "I would prefer you to call me Dada?"

Beach Portriats Spetember '09

Steven took these three photos of Evan lastnight on the beach. I look at him in these photos and I can't believe how much older he looks. He is looking little like a baby these days and more like a kid. I went to exercise lastnight and then out for dinner with a friend. E got to hang out with Daddy. When I arrived back home, I looked at my little boy's face and it surprised me how much his face had changed in those three hours I had been gone.
The other funny story behind these images is that Evan had worn this blue hoodie to the beach. When I arrived home I noticed it was wet and asked to take it off of him. He cried and did not want it off. Steven told me that he too had tried to take it off but Evan protested and asked that the hoodie stay on!

What to Do with Money
Lastnight, Daddy got home from a consultant job. He got paid in cash. He handed them to Evan who immediately thew the money over his head and started rolling in it giggling! We cracked up. How did he know this is what one does with money?? We would pick up the bills and Evan would take them back and did the whole thing over and over again. It was like he had seen someone do this before or had been told how to do it.

Evan's New Expression

We went out for dinner last night to a place which had an outdoor eating area covered by trees. As soon as Evan saw the trees above, he immediately froze with the expression you see in the picture above. If you look closely, you can see the trees reflected in his eyes. His attention was so focused and his expression so intense, I stopped the stroller and just watched him. This lasted nearly a minute, during which time I spoke to him and even took his photograph, but he wouldn't be bothered. After he figured out the trees, he returned to normal.
