ALL THE LINES

Today is Thursday! Thursdays are our playdate with Brandie and Sofia. For part of our day we went to the LA courthouse to get birth certificates. In typical governmental form nothing is easy. I got in LINE and was about half way through when the woman standing behind me offered to tell me that the counter does not accept on-line printed forms. They request only the forms that are offered in the office. She was very nice and helping me through the process she had just learned how to work. She offered me the correct form and I hurried through it to fill in all of the blank spaces. It was a difficult task as I was holding Evan at my front in the Ergo. He was starting to get fussy standing in the LINE with all of those people. Brandie was there to offer help and we were quickly making it to the front of the LINE. The form was exactly like the one I had printed and filled out at home in hopes I would be prepared for this task. We got to the beginning when the clerk was calling out that everyone make sure that ALL THE LINES are filled in as the example shows. She quickly pointed to template form that was pasted on the window. I quickly noticed I had not put my license number down on the form but step forward anyway to turn in the form. The clerk quickly reprimanded me explaining I was like everyone else and needed to setp aside and finish ALL THE LINES on my form. Ugh! I stepped aside and quickly filled in my number. I need to add that Evan had started crying about half way in the LINE and I could not console him. I have noticed that he has issues with crowds. I decided not to get back in line but to stay in the front and quickly slip in next after I filled out ALL THE LINES on my form. We got to the front of the line again and as I was filling out the check the clerk quickly was telling me to put my license number on my check and blahblahblahblah. I was writing the number and my mind could not recall anything else the woman had requested. My child was crying, the clerk was staring at me and I couldn't remember what I should do next. I handed the clerk my check and waited to see what would happen next. The clerk quickly added that she would note my expiration date and handed me my baby's birth certificate. A soon as we exited the room of LINES, Evan was his happy self.
