Hello my little boy!Happy Birthday! I cannot believe that you are turning nine months old today. Time is flying by us. We have so much fun together.
This last month was a big one for us. You are growing and learning so many new things. You have definite likes and dislikes now. You make your wishes known. You don't like it when I leave. If I run out the door to check on the laundry you will call after me. As soon as I hear your cry I come back and look at you and you smile. I leave again and the second I am out of your view you call out again. We continue this game until you don't call out for me. I want to prove to you I will always be there when you need me.
You know can sit up from being on your tummy. You can pull yourself up into a standing position and hold it. You can still slip so I stay close to you to grab you in the event you fall. I don't think that you know that you can stand on your own yet. But you do! In the last month we have gone from you never wanting to be laying down to now you always want to be standing. You are still into bouncing. You love to hold my hands into a standing position and jump until your heart is content. Then you sit down for a few seconds to guve yourself a rest. Within seconds you are back to bouncing. Grandma was here for a visit this past week. I held your hands and you took steps toward her and back to me. You "army crawl" all over the house. You can go really fast when you want something.
You now have four teeth. You have your bottom front and top front. Just yesterday we noticed you are getting two more, one on either side of your two top teeth.
I tease all the time that I am your favorite toy. You like to climb on me and for me to hold you up to stand and to bounce. In the last few days you have taken to looking at my features and staring. You also like to pull on ears, noses and teeth. We play a game that when you pull my ear/nose/teeth I pull on yours. I think you are really connecting that you have those same parts connected too. You love stuffed animals and have taken to favoring "Gordy". He is a sock monkey I bought for you before you were born. He was at the hospital with us. You laugh when your Dad plays with Gordy. He will pretend that Gordy trips and falls and you squeal in delight. I think you have your Dad's sense of humor all ready. We are at awe that you have such a sense of humor. I will hear you laughing by yourself. You give out a giggle while you sit in your carseat and I wonder what you were thinking or appreciating.
Here are a few of your favorite things to do right now: going to the mailbox-you love playing with mail; the shower curtain-you squeal with delight as you shake it with both hands; opening and closing doors.
I sat with you lastnight for over an hour watching you open and shut your bedroom door. You hold the door stopper with one hand and watch as the door opens and closes. You talk to it and then get quiet and just watch it. You look up and watch the entire height of the door as it moves.
We went to the doctor today and Dr. Roberts is nuts over you. She takes you for a walk around the office to show you off. It cracks me up. She gave us the go-ahead to try any of the foods we haven't tried yet with the exception of nuts, honey, strawberries and citrus. You are 20 and a half pounds and are 30.25" tall. You are in the 95% for your height.
I love you so much!
Mommie
