I remember listening to Evan in his bassinet that first night in the hospital. He made all of these noises! Precious noises full of gurgles, sighs and breath. Even though I had been up for days (not to mention labor) I couldn't get myself to go to sleep and miss hearing the sounds this little new boy was making. My little boy.
Now, three months later, I find I still have the same sleeping problem. I love to listen to him while he sleeps. The sleeping rhythm of the breath of a newborn! Start-stop......Start-stop.........stop? Stop?! Start up again.....sigh. In the night, through those sighs I hear a glimpse of Evan's giggle. In the middle of all of his breathing sometimes he lets out a giggle. A big true giggle. It is awesome. It brings tears to my eyes as I can all ready picture my little boy running around with his smile and now hear his giggle.
This week Evan squealed out a sound of joy! He is also starting to laugh. How fun it is to see these first reactions and to learn what brings him joy.
