1. We went on the 405 for the first time. I haven't gone that far from home yet because I have discovered Evan has a threshold of being in the car. We went to see a friend of mine that just had a baby. Her house is about 20 minutes away. It was in the middle of the afternoon so I knew we wouldn't hit traffic. We were doing great. So-good that he started talking to me from the back seat! It was so fun to hear him cooing and making noises. We talked all the way until we were a few blocks from their house and then he started to cry.
2. Steven and I were taking Evan for a walk. We placed him in the stroller outside our door. Just as we were adjusting the handle and getting ready to go when we noticed Evan had lifted his head out from the stroller. He held it there for moments but it was amazing to see him move. The week continued with Evan advancing with the strength of his neck. Burping sessions are a struggle because he wants to lift his head off of my chest so bad! He is getting so strong. Very soon he will be holding his head up high on his own. All of the tummy time is working!
3. Evan is making his first giggle sounds! They are hilarous.
4. When Evan was talking with Steven, Steven was making a "hooo" sounds and Evan repeated the "hoo" sound. It was amazing. We are finding out he loves us to make funny noises. "hoots", "hooos", "wooooooo" (like a siren). He still continues his "HEEEEYYY" sounds. There is an animal picture book and we go through all of the images making each animal sound. He loves it.
5. This week was eating week. I think he was in a growth spurt as he wanted to eat every hour. Whew! By week's end, he was back to our normal schedule.
6. One of his happy places to be is in on our bed looking out the window. Jasper the cat comes by and stares in at us reading books and listens in for the story of the day. I laid Evan on the bed (on his back) and reached down to put on my shoes. I looked over to him seconds later and he was laying on his side! His legs stretched out to the side and smiling at me.
