Today Evan and I went to a class to learn about baby sleep. It was informative and very overwhelming. But-not as overwhelming as the car trip to and from class. Evan SCREAMED. I have never heard my child make this much noise. He was not happy. As I was sitting in the front seat thinking..."what a bad mother I am" and "my son will never smile at me again", we arrived at the destination and I saved my child from the backseat. It is horrible to hear your baby cry! As soon as I held him he and offered reassurance he was happy again. Whew. He also offered me many smiles all throughout the day so my fears were in vain.
Today Evan and I were playing. He had just been fed and made a "Bppppppplllth" sound with his tongue sticking out between his lips. I immediately responded and copied his sound back to him. That gave him such joy that he squealed and did the sound right back to me a second time. He thought this was the funniest thing ever!
Tonight when Steven got home he was telling me a story and I responded with applause and said "yea"!!! Without knowing it I had responded to Steven like I do to Evan several times a day. We both cracked up as we realized how much of a Mommie I have become!

Isn't it so funny when this happens? Or when you're standing and begin swaying as if rocking your child to sleep, only your not holding your child.
